Nervous system as a whole includes the Central and Peripheral Nervous System. Central Nervous System consists of the brain and spinal cord while Peripheral Nervous System consists of all the sensory nerves that connect all parts of the body with the central nervous system.
The nervous system controls major body activities relating to body movements, sensory organs and stimuli. It relays information about the environment to the brain, controls muscle coordination to enable motion, and facilitates vision and the involuntary body movements such as breathing and vomiting. The nervous system is divided into central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.
